Hey Joyce, Love your new house. How fun for you to be able to get "away". Retreats maybe? Hmmm. I'm making working on some fall things right now. It's been so hot here that I'm looking forward to sweater weather. Love your new BOM. It's just gorgeous

I just found you through, the Woolie Mammoth blog. Yay!
I love when I find a great new blog to read. This summer I've been working on a log cabin table mat, that I've been doing a lot of wool appliqué and embroidery on. Wool appliqué is new to me, I'm enjoying it. Also my LQS's BOM, its been a slow sewing summer. ;-> Toni Anne

Anne and  Toni Anne please email me with your addresses and two pattern choices: geoffsmompatterns@gmail.com

Here are a few pictures from the Camp Blanding Retreat in Jacksonville, FL.  It was so much fun and we laughed so hard and played even more.

This is a view off the dock of the lake house we stayed in. Did any of you watch "Army Wives" on tv. The retreat and house were on an Army Base and I felt like I was in the show. It was absolutely gorgeous!!!

The Lake is called Kingsley lake and it is perfectly round.

Here are Gloria (Old Green Cupboard Designs) and Mary Ellen (Red Crinoline Quilts) sewing and working away. (click on Red Crinoline for more retreat pictures and adventures)

Linda and Wynette are solving the problems of the world. ha ha. Linda was a super cook and Wynette runs housing at Camp Blanding.

Mary Ellen needed a power nap.

Our outing to Rachel's Farmhouse

The displays were incredible.

Love the pottery and the antique quilts.

A favorite quilt hanging.

This cute guy was hanging out wanting to be purchased.

Grandmother's flower garden was incredible.

I purchased a wonderful antique quilt I am currently reproducing. OMG! I think I have died and gone to quilt heaven.

Gloria had some wonderful bags on her website for sale. I couldn't resist a couple.

I will be teaching in San Diego at the Quilt Show and hanging out at Rosie's Calico Cupboard where she carries my complete line of quilt patterns. Lots of friends are sure to be there. The plan is to visit lots of quilt shops.

I'm still missing my dad but as I have found through wonderful friends and family life does go on and it is time to be happy and enjoy life because as we all know life is just way too short.

Thanks for visiting my blog and keep smiling and stitching.

What fun! The retreat looks like a great place and so much fun with friends. Rachel's Farmhouse looks like a wonderful place to take a break! I love the bags on Gloria's site - there is one that I've had my eye on.
